- Hourly Compensation: $28 - $30 per hour
Position Overview: Provide Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment while monitoring patient safety and building therapeutic relationships throughout the course of care. Supports team development by assisting with training initiatives as in partnership with the Regional TMS Tech Trainer, facilitates supplementary training, and coordinates recurring technical competency reviews for the TMS Technician team. Provides coverage as needed to ensure continuity of care and adherence to established clinical protocols and performance standards.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Administers TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) treatments and supports patient during treatments using positive communication and reinforcement to ensure optimal results are achieved.
- Monitor for adverse effects and notify the doctor or provider. Assist in the management of adverse effects including seizures.
- Complete all required clinical and administrative documentation to accepted standards of practice, accurately, legibly, and by established timelines on electronic health record (EHR) system and paper as needed.
- Assist psychiatrist by gathering and reviewing medical records to aid in appropriate patient selection
- Collaborate with Providers to determine the treatment protocols.
- Provide psychoeducation curriculum to patients, communicate, and educate patients on importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
- Operate and control settings of electrophysiologic recording device. Measure, calculate, and log recorded electrophysiologic information. Correctly position the TMS coil and administer validated rating scales to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with patient comfort, coil contact, and TMS system setup throughout treatment.
- Serves as mentor for new staff after they complete their onboarding training for follow up questions and additional training needs.
- Facilitates supplementary training and recurring technical competency review for TMS Tech Team.
- Provides back-up coverage and support to TMS Treatment leadership as needed.
Other Duties:
- Participate in scheduled individual supervision, health team meetings, in-service, training, interdisciplinary work groups, staff meetings, and other required meetings.
- May be required to travel to alternate Family Care Center clinic locations on occasion, for coverage purposes.
- Perform other duties as required by supervisor and/or providers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Two years of experience as a TMS Technician required. Prior healthcare experience (e.g., Medical Assistant, CNA, EMT, EEG Technician, Medic, or similar role) preferred. At least six months of prior experience as a Family Care Center (FCC) TMS Technician preferred. Experience working with an electronic health record (EHR) system preferred.
- FCC TMS certification required. Training in Brainsway, MagVenture and Apollo required. EEG certification required within 60 days. Current driver’s license required.
